Our members can make online loan payments using a debit card from another financial institution – safely and securely.

To begin using this service, you'll need to create a login

Please register and create a login. Be sure to have the following information ready:

  • Your SCE Credit Union member number
  • Your date of birth
  • The last four digits of your Social Security number

Once you've registered, you can set up recurring payments from the account of your choice.

What's the Make a Payment service?

Make a Payment is a convenient way for you to pay your SCE Credit Union loan from another financial institution using your debit card or routing and account number.

Is there a fee to use the Make a Payment service?

Yes, the fee is $10.

How can I make my loan payment from another financial institution?

There are three ways to make a loan payment from your external account. You may either:

  1. Log in to your Online or Mobile Banking account and utilize our Loan Pay feature with your account and routing number for free
  2. On our website under Loan Center, using the Make a Payment feature with your debit card or account and routing number for a fee of $10
  3. Call our Member Care Center at 800.866.6474 during regular business hours to pay by phone with your debit card or account and routing number for a fee of $12.50
Can I set up a recurring loan payment from another financial institution using the Make a Payment service?

Yes, provided you use your account and routing number from another financial institution. Debit card information isn't stored.

What information do I need to use the Make a Payment service?

If you're the primary member, you'll need...

  • Your member number
  • Your date of birth
  • The last four digits of your Social Security number
What loans can be paid using the Make a Payment service?

All SCE Credit Union loans, except Auto Leases.

Can I use my SCE Credit Union Debit Card or Checking account on the Make a Payment site?

Yes, but making the payment through your Online or Mobile Banking account is free. Simply log in to transfer a payment or call our Member Care Center at 800.866.6474 during regular business hours to transfer the funds. Can I use my credit card to make a loan payment?

No. Credit cards can't be used to make a loan payment.

Can I make a principal-only payment using the Make a Payment service?

No. All payments will be applied in this order:

  1. Any late payment due
  2. Interest due from the date of the last payment
  3. Principal
Can I pay off my loan using the Make a Payment service?

Yes! As long as the payoff is less than the daily limit of $2,500. Also, you should call our Member Care Center at 800.866.6474 during regular business hours to get the exact payoff amount for that day.

How can I check the status of my payment on the Make a Payment service?

When a payment is made, you'll receive an email confirmation. In addition, you can also view your payment history on the site.

Can I schedule my payment for a future date?

Yes; however, this feature is only available when using your account and routing number from another financial institution.

Can I use the Make a Payment service if my loan is past due?

Yes, but no more than 60 days delinquent.

Is there a maximum number of payments I can make using the Make a Payment service?

Yes, there's limit. You can make up to five payments per month on your account, but remember... there's a fee each time. Please be aware, multiple payments to one loan won't extend the due date more than 60 days.

Is there a dollar limit if I use the Make a Payment service?

Yes. There's a $2,500 limit when using either your debit card or your account and routing number from another financial institution. If you'd like to pay more, please call our Member Care Center at 800.866.6474 during regular business hours.

What's the process to pay a loan from an external account?

You'll need to register by creating a unique user ID and password on our external site. Once logged in, select Pay Now on the bottom of the loan you'd like to pay, then select Add Payment Method from the dropdown, where you'll be prompted to search for your bank name. Once your bank is selected, you'll be asked to enter your login credentials from the other financial institution to validate your bank information. This external account will only need to be validated once and will be available for future payments.

Why do I need to enter my login credentials to make a payment from my external account?

It allows us to safely and securely validate the account is legitimate and will allow ACH withdrawals. This method of account validation reduces the chance of data entry errors, and you can rest assured the information entered is encrypted and never shared.

Who is Finicity?

They're the company we use to gather data for your external account securely, rest assured:

  • Sign-in information is not shared
  • Control access to your accounts
  • Data sent is encrypted
Do I have to validate my account every time I want to make a payment from an external account?

No, it’s only needed the first time you enter the financial institution information. It'll be saved and can be found in the dropdown menu going forward, which saves you time for future payments.

How long will it take to verify my external account information?

If the validation process is completed successfully, the results will be immediate.

If you can't validate my external account information, can I make my payment another way?

Yes, you can use a debit card or give our Member Care Center a call at 800.866.6474 during regular business hours.
