Describe the work you do at the Credit Union. Do you enjoy what you do?
As a Training Manager I plan, direct, and coordinate programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of our SCE Federal Credit Union employees. I make sure our staff gain and develop the skills they need to carry out their jobs effectively.
I love what I do. It's the "Ah-Ha!" moments, laughter, sincerity, the unexpected that keeps me on my toes, being able to adjust in a moment’s notice. I love passing on knowledge I have acquired to someone else.
How did you come to be an SCE FCU employee? What’s your background experience?
I became an SCE FCU employee by chance. I left one of the biggest banks in the nation because I grew tired of the way the company was headed. I wanted to find a company that had the same values as I do. A company that treats you with respect and values your contribution.
I have over 16 years of training and delivery experience from working at Disneyland to Washington Mutual to Indymac Bank to Accenture to JP Morgan Chase to here.
How do you spend your free time? Are you married? Do you have kids, pets, hobbies, life goals, etc?
I love spending time with my family. I am married to my lovely wife and we have two beautiful boys – ages 6 and 4.
I like to go swimming, running, and constantly going to our neighborhood theme parks. (Disneyland & Knott's Berry Farm)
My life goal is to be happy. I found that money is not everything. You don't need money to have a rich life. Good friends and a loving family is everything.
Do you have any advice or words of wisdom/inspiration you’d like to share?
Your time in this world is limited, so you don't want to waste it by living someone else's life. Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. Every day is an opportunity to grow. Today is your day to become a better person.
