You have to work hard in the dark to shine in the light. ~ Kobe Bryant

Describe the work you do at the Credit Union.

As a Business Development Executive for SCE Credit Union, I work with various employers, such as Southern California Edison, to speak to their employees about the resources available to them through our Credit Union. Many people don’t realize the full number of services we offer and are thrilled when they hear about a certain product we offer they can take advantage of. In addition, I help strengthen the relationship our Credit Union has with these partners by answering questions, helping with loans and opening new accounts.

I find it extremely fulfilling to help others with their financial lives. I’m honored to be a part of all the amazing work the Credit Union does in the communities we serve. Each day brings something new, and I love the work I get to do!

What was your first job?

My very first job was at the age of 15, as a dog groomer. I love dogs and have four of my own, so working there during the summer was a lot of fun for me. I still remember how awesome it felt when I was paid for the very first time!

How did you come to be an SCE Credit Union team member?

Before working for SCE Credit Union, I was a member. I opened my account with the Credit Union in 2014 after working for a few summers and saving up my money. It was a great choice!

Over the next few years, I got to know the team at my local branch. After working with my previous employer for 3 years, I felt it was time for me to make a change. I wanted to work in an organization where I could further develop my skills and continue to grow. In 2018, a Teller position became available in the Lynwood Branch. Shortly after my interview, I received a phone call with an offer. I was thrilled!

Since then, I have worked for the Credit Union as a Teller, Member Service Representative and now as a Business Development Executive. I continue to learn and flourish through experiences, education from my superiors and the work I do every day.

How do you spend your free time?

I'm a huge basketball and baseball fan – Go Lakers and Dodgers! – so I enjoy watching and attending games. I also love to play basketball and frequent various parks when I have time, and partake in pickup games. In addition, I’m a big car and truck enthusiast; it doesn't matter if it's attending a car show, working on my truck, or talking about cars – you'll find me with a huge smile on my face. Another hobby I’m passionate about is weightlifting. I’m a big advocate for physical fitness and I’m very enthusiastic about going to the gym every single day – it's usually the highlight of my daily routine. Additionally, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. Whether it's exploring new places, trying new food, or simply sitting together and talking, I appreciate my time with them.

Do you speak any languages, other than English?

Other than English, I also speak and am fluent in Spanish.
