Financial Services Consultant
Team Member since 2006
Very little is needed to make a happy life, it's within yourself, in your way of thinking.
Describe the work you do at the Credit Union.
I love what I do as a Financial Services Consultant! What I enjoy most is helping members save money by helping them to refinance or consolidate their high interest rate loans. I also take care of members opening new accounts and any account maintenance. I find my position very fulfilling.
What was your first job?
My very first job was at Dairy Queen. I worked there during my summer break in high school. I enjoyed making all the treats!
How did you come to be an SCE Credit Union team member?
I graduated high school in 2001, at that time I knew I wanted to become a flight attendant. Things changed after the catastrophic event of 9/11 and it changed my dreams. I heard about the Credit Union from one of my friends’ mom who worked here at the time. She told me the Ontario branch was looking for a receptionist… so I applied, interviewed, and thankfully was hired! I was the receptionist for six months before being promoted to Teller. As a teller, I really enjoyed talking to the members and building rapport – that and the product knowledge I was developing. It allowed me to refer the right products to our members. A few years later, I was promoted to a Financial Services Consultant (FSC) and have been really enjoying my position.
How do you spend your free time?
I met my husband while working at SCE FCU, who later joined the team in 2009. We’ve been happily married for 12 years, have two beautiful girls, and two amazing puppies. We purchased our first home in 2020 and enjoy fixing it up and creating memories with our kids.
