Life's too short to spend it being angry, bored or dull. ~ Barbara Johnson

Describe the work you do at the Credit Union.

I'm a Member Service Representative at the Boyle Heights Branch. I assist members with teller transactions by accurately and efficiently handling their financial needs in person or by phone. I open and process transactions relating to new accounts, answer questions regarding Credit Union products, services, and policies. I also assist with operational duties, such as helping with branch opening and closing procedures. Being able to help our members and team members is priceless – I really enjoy being a part of the Boyle Heights team.

What was your first job?

My first job was at Universal Studios Hollywood as a Retail Sales Associate.

How did you come to be an SCE Credit Union team member?

I started my career with SCE Credit Union as a teller at the Irwindale Branch. I have been working in customer service since my first job. Before joining the Credit Union, I worked at Bank of America as a Teller Operations Specialist for eight years and seven years at LA County Probation Department as a County Clerk. My sister, Silvia, joined the SCE Credit Union team before me. She was the one who introduced me to the Credit Union. I’ve now been at the Credit Union for three wonderful years. Last year I was promoted to a Member Service Representative position and transferred to the Boyle Heights Branch.

How do you spend your free time?

I love spending time with my beautiful wife and my two bunnies. We’re always on the go, traveling or driving around – we love to visit new places, especially the beaches in Southern California. I enjoy watching and playing soccer… GO LAFC! Attending a World Cup and visiting Japan are on my bucket list. I also like to collect toys and comics.

Do you speak any languages, other than English?

Yes, I’m fluent in Spanish.
