Describe the work you do at the Credit Union.
I’m the Manager of the Electronic Services Department, overseeing the day-to-day operations of item processing and card services. My department handles anything from ACH, share draft and image enabled deposits, to processing debit dispute claims and responding to compromised card alerts. Our main focus is providing great member service and protecting our members from potential losses. I like to think of my department as a critical part in supporting our members financial needs. I have a great team and we work for a great company, especially during the past year.
What was your first job?
I worked at Starbucks Coffee right out of high school. I started off as a Barista and made my way up to Shift Supervisor and considered moving into management. I worked there for about four years before leaving to work for the Credit Union.
How did you come to be an SCE FCU team member?
A friend from Starbucks left to work for the Credit Union and told me the CU was looking to fill a teller position and asked if I’d be interested. At the time I didn't have much experience with financial institutions except for making the merchant deposits and balancing the stores daily cash, but I thought… why not?! Give it a try! 20 years later, I’m glad I did.
How do you spend your free time?
I love doing anything crafty and tend to keep myself pretty busy with my husband and three kids. I volunteer at my oldest daughters High School on the Upland Highland Regiment Board and I’ve been the Color Guard mom for the last three years. Before the pandemic, I used to enjoy the long competition days and making cute little gifts for the team. I get involved with my kids’ after school activities as much as possible since I can't be there during the day. And, I like to take Sunday early morning hikes with my husband to clear my mind.
