SecurLOCKTM Equip offers features that give you ultimate control - and peace of mind. It allows you to control from your smartphone how / where / when your SCE FCU credit cards are being used. Turn your cards on or off with the touch of a button. Set location based controls. Block international transactions or set spending limits.

What's SecurLOCK Equip?

SecurLOCK Equip is a mobile app that allows you to control how, when and where your SCE FCU credit card is used. It's a simple and secure way to manage and monitor card transaction activity. SecurLOCK Equip can help you keep your card safe and provide instant notifications whenever your card is used.

How do I get the SecurLOCK Equip app?

It's simple.

  1. Search for SecurLOCK (all one word)
  2. Once the app is loaded, tap on the lock icon to register your card by selecting Sign Up Free. You'll be prompted to enter your card number and other verification criteria such as address and CVV
  3. After your card is enrolled, you'll be given the option to turn the card on or off, set up card controls or turn on transaction alerts

What's required to use it?

SecurLOCK Equip is strictly for SCE FCU credit cards (for debit card controls refer to CardNav).

To use the app, you'll need an Apple or Android smartphone. After downloading the app you'll be instructed to enter your full card number and the following authentication information:

  • Address
  • CVV

Once registered you can begin using the app immediately.

Is there a fee to use the app?

No. It's free and gives you more control over your card.

How many cards can I register?

Unlimited, as long as the cards have been issued by SCE FCU.

What kind of cards can I register?

Both consumer and business credit cards. For debit card controls refer to CardNav).

What mobile devices are supported?

Android - version 4.1 or later and Apple (iOS) - device model 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6 or 6 Plus with iOS operating system version 6, 7 or 8 and all future device/release going forward.

What if I have trouble during registration?

Please use the Contact Us button at the bottom of the landing page to be directed to either call or email us.

Why do I need to provide an email address during registration?

Your email address is needed in case you forget your password and need to reset it.

How do I start managing and monitoring my card activity?

You can begin using the app immediately. You can turn your cards off by switching the green button on the top right to red. This means all transactions (except for recurring) will be declined. When ready to make a purchase simply turn the card back on. It's that easy.

You also have the option to selectively set controls by channel (in-store, online, mobile, ATM, etc.). You can also set transaction spend limits, select geographic locations where the card can be used, set specific merchant categories, view recent transactions, receive real-time alerts and much more.

What is a real-time alert?

It's an immediate notification sent to the app. You can elect to be alerted on all transactions including recurring payments or designate to be notified just on preferred transactions. Preferred alerts are available by spend limits, location, transaction type and merchant category.

Does turning the card off affect my Visa account?

No. Using the card controls doesn't change the status of the account.

How long does it take for a control or alert setting to take effect?

It happens immediately after the option is set and saved.

If I turn my card off, will recurring transactions go through?

Yes. Merchant recurring transactions will be approved.

Can I use My Location, My Region and International at the same time?

My Location and My Region work independently or together; however, neither can be used in conjunction with International.

If a transaction is declined, how do I determine what control caused the denial?

In the app, go to Transactions, find the one that was denied and open it. Tap the image so it rotates and the controls that were evoked during the authorization will be listed near the bottom. The transaction could also be declined because of external factors like non-sufficient funds or fraud monitoring.

What are Alert Preferences?

Alert preferences let you know every time a transaction is attempted. Alerts may be generated for all or only preferred transactions. Preferred alerts can be set by location, transaction type, merchant type and threshold amount.

What if I have alerts set for every transaction, but do not receive them?

Only the primary device will receive alerts. Use the settings menu in the app to ensure you have set the device as primary.

What if I receive a new card? Will it be automatically updated in the app?

No. You'll have to add the new card to the app. To disable the old card:

  • Select Manage Portfolio
  • Tap on Add Card
  • Uncheck the old card that no longer needs to be displayed

What if I need help with the app?

There's a Help function within the app as well as a Contact Us category where you can send us an email or give us a call.

The Help feature also provides detailed information on how to turn your cards on/off, as well as both the controls and alert features within the app.

How long does the transaction history display?

The last 50 transactions will display in the app for thirty calendar days.

Could a pending purchase show for more than I paid? Why?

Some merchants send preauthorizations at higher amounts to if the card is valid. For example, a $25 gas purchase might display as $126. Preauthorizations are common at the pump, for a hotel stay or for a car rental. Even though the charge is listed in the app for more, it will clear for the correct amount.

I have multiple cards registered, but only want one to display on my device.

To select the card(s) to display, go to Settings and choose Manage Portfolio. Then uncheck the card or cards you don't want to display. Once a card is unmanaged, controls and alerts can't be set for that card.

How do I access the menu or log out?

Press the icon that has three stacked lines to reach the menu. This icon is usually found in the top right corner.

How can I get more information about the features and functionality of the app?

Detailed information can be found throughout the app. Help can be found at the bottom of the login page and listed in the menu. On specific pages such as the My Location page tapping the "i" next to My Regions will open a window with detailed information on how the control works.

What if my smartphone is stolen? How secure is the app?

A password is required to access the app. Also, there is no personal information stored on the smartphone. The app only displays the last four digits of your card number.
