IRWINDALE, Calif. (July 27, 2011) – SCE Federal Credit Union is all about its members. This week, SCE FCU is launching their ‘People Powered Banking’ branding campaign, featuring member’s images, on buses and billboards throughout Los Angeles, Calif.

"Banks and most of the time credit unions tend to feature a product or a special loan rate in their advertising campaign,” said Irene Sarber, SCE FCU Chief Planning and Development Officer. “We’re all about our membership and showcasing our flexibility and accessibility to the community come through in our branding campaign.”

Members are the face of SCE FCU’s ads, which are appearing on strategically selected bus tails, bus wraps and bulletins for nine months. SCE FCU selected members with different financial backgrounds including high school students, local city officials and ones who’ve started a business during the recent recession.

“I’m speechless when I see my face six feet tall on a bus or billboard,” said Aida Torres an SCE FCU member since 2006. “Being a part of the SCE FCU’s campaign is amazing. I get to represent an organization that is authentic and treats me like family every time I go into the Duarte branch.”

The advertising campaign, with English and Spanish ads and microsites (sce4me.com and sceespanol.com) educates consumers on how to join, products and services offered and branch locations for the $500 million credit union.

“SCE FCU is a wonderful organization for small business owners and I’m proud to be part of the campaign,” said Bob Bahnvadia, SCE FCU member and owner of a local AM/PM convenience store. “When they say that you can talk to CEO Dennis Huber in the ads, you can. Everyone at the credit union is focused on helping grow my business.”
