Dennis Huber

Chief Executive Officer

Dennis is a financial services professional with more than four decades of experience in the credit union industry. He has worked for 30 years managing state and federal credit unions, and spent 9 years on the regulatory side of the business, working for the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) as both a Financial Institution Examiner and Director of Liquidations. Prior to joining SCE FCU, Dennis was General Manager of San Francisco-based Pacific Service Credit Union, which is among the 100 largest credit unions in the United States. His many accomplishments at Pacific Service CU included maintaining financial services and rebuilding infrastructure and operations following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. The disaster in-effect destroyed the credit union’s headquarters, and the rebuilding effort became a life and career-changing event.

In 1990, Dennis was appointed president and CEO of SCE Federal Credit Union. He immediately instituted an aggressive strategy to expand products and services, and helped make SCE FCU one of the first major credit unions to offer its members internet-based financial services.

Over the years Dennis has led the Credit Union to achieve dramatic growth, including a five-fold increase in assets. Today, he serves at the helm of an institution with more than $602 million in assets and 47,800 members.

As President and CEO, Dennis oversees SCE FCU’s part-ownership of CMF ─ a mortgage services company. CMF provides a full-range of mortgage products and services to several Southern California credit unions. Dennis is very active in credit union industry affairs. He served for seven years on the Board of Directors of CO-OP Financial Services as both Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer. CO-OP Financial Services is the largest credit union owned EFT network and the largest regional EFT network in the nation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Card Services for Credit Unions (CSCU) ─ the nation’s largest credit and debit card processing association exclusively for credit unions.

Dennis earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Finance from Indiana University, and a Masters Degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. In addition, he received a CCE (Certified Chief Executive) designation from the Credit Union Executive Society, completed a CFP (Certified Financial Professional) Education Program from the College for Financial Planning, and maintains a Series 7 General Securities Registered Representative License.
